Choosing a software company in Pakistan can feel risky. There are hundreds of options, and quotes for the same project can differ ten times. A few simple questions quickly show you which companies are serious.

Before you start

Write down, in a few lines: the problem you want solved, who will use the software, the 3–4 must-have features, and a rough budget and deadline. This makes every quote easier to compare.

8 questions to ask

  1. Can I see work you've already done? Ask for live websites or apps similar to yours, not just designs.
  2. Who will actually build it? Some firms sell with a senior person, then hand the work to someone else.
  3. How will you keep me updated? You should see working versions regularly. WhatsApp updates are often the most practical.
  4. What exactly is in the price? Get in writing: rounds of changes, hosting, domain and SSL, staff training, and the cost of changes after launch.
  5. Who owns the code and the data? You should own your data and be able to export it. For custom work, agree on code ownership in writing.
  6. What happens after launch? Ask about support costs, how fast they respond, and monthly support plans.
  7. Will it work on phones and show up on Google? Ask about mobile design, speed and basic SEO.
  8. Can I talk to one of your clients? A confident company will happily connect you.
